Pivot tool
Intro
Move a Shape's pivot point in the Viewport.
A pivot is the position that a Shape will rotate around or scale from. The Pivot tool can be used to manipulate the pivot without changing the visual position of a Shape or vice versa.
UI
To position a pivot without visually moving a Shape either;
- Click + Drag the pivot.
- Click one of the 9 grid points to set the pivot to that point's position.
To position a Shape without visually moving its pivot either;
- Option/Alt + Click + Drag the pivot.
- Option/Alt + Click one of the 9 grid points to move the pivot to that position.
The shortcuts 1-9 can be used to snap to the grid points where 1 is the bottom left and 9 is the top right.
Snapping
The Viewport Snapping options are supported by the Pivot tool. Holding Shift will also enable axis snapping.
If Viewport Snapping is enabled, holding Cmd/Ctrl will disable it.
